Welcome to the House of Thune Snow Park!
Featured Works
Our Works:
Environmental Activism
Our statement pieces incorporate the impact that pollution has on the elements in order to bring awareness and promote conversation. Water is life. We couldn’t do what we do with snow if it wasn’t clean!
Political Satire
We sure are some pretty little “snowflakes” aren’t we? Unapologetically unafraid to make a statement against corruption.
Fine Art & Fun!!!
We like to bring the party wherever we go! Book our specialist snow teachers for your next environmental learning or outdoor adventure class, create custom art for your company functions, or even to officiate your wedding!

House of Thune – Team Captain/Master Sculptor/Snow Pirate

Dusty Thune, MA Ed
Dusty Thune teaches Special Education in the St. Paul Public Schools, specifically classes for improving self-advocacy and empowerment. He is an award winning artist, film-maker, writer, actor, director, producer, prop master, costume designer, singer / rock star, and captain of the infamous House of Thune snow sculpting team. Dusty is an ambitious creative that likes to make statement pieces that provoke conversation. His attention to detail, story telling ability, and positive energy have earned him accolades in multiple artistic endeavors, most notably in snow sculpting where he has led the House of Thune snow sculpting team to 5 state championship titles, a 2nd place finish in the US Nationals, and most recently a 1st place finish in multi-block International competition.
Dusty is as comfortable in front of a camera as he is gracefully swinging a razor sharp snow spear above his head to perfect the gentle arc of a form. Look for him to promote your event, officiate a wedding ceremony during a competition dressed in an octopus helmet and pirate sword, or get the crowds whipped into a frenzy of laughter as he invites them to a bout of improv karaoke.
House of Thune – Assistant Captain/Detail Master/Tunnel King

David Aichinger
David is a multi-disciplinary artist interested in working with wood, stone, and of course, snow. Over the years his scope of work has evolved to include public art, art education and private commissions.
In 2010, he founded Tessera Mosaics to focus on large scale mosaic murals. He enjoyed working with the youth and a mix of community organizations and was awarded the grand prize from the National Tile Contractors Association for excellence in his field.
In 2018 David switched his attention to carpentry and launched the Standing Cedars Workshop. His most recently work was converting an old greyhound bus into a mobile art therapy clinic for Art Lab Rx and fabricating a 10’ elm-tree shaped phone booth known as the “Elm Tree Stories” for the Natural Heritage Project.
David’s experience in construction, tilework, drafting, and carpentry has led him to be a valuable asset to the House of Thune snow sculpting team. He is the structural and mathematical brain behind the daring components!

House of Thune – Artist/Web Guru

Jason Arney-O’Neil
Currently based out of St. Paul, Minnesota, Jason is a mixed-media artist with accolades in sculpture. His art career started after an early retirement as a Paramedic in Minnesota. In 2013 he moved to California to become a nomadic sand sculptor. Known as the “Sandman of Avila Beach” he busked on a daily basis, building sand characters from San Diego to San Luis Obispo.
Today, Jason still visits California to build sand sculptures, but his artwork has brought him back to Minnesota. Now, working as a theme park sculptor, he also finds time to enter into various sand and snow sculpting competitions. In these mediums, he has won awards as a solo competitor as well as a team member.
House of Thune – Jr. Artist
Ingrid Thune
Currently residing at the House of Thune in Saint Paul, MN., Ingrid (11 yrs) got started as a commercial artist in the 2nd grade by slinging custom ornaments during the holiday season. Armed with a hot glue gun and an unhealthy amount of packaging tape, Ingrid feels most at home amidst her “projects” and shares her father’s (Dusty) ambitious drive to complete her works to the best of her ability in timeframes prescribed. Ingrid is an accomplished Junior Roller Derby Association athlete with the Minnesota Frostbite Competitive Traveling team, which lends to her strength, stamina, and endurance as a competitive snow sculptor. Roar!!! https://www.mnrollerderby.com/teams-staff/frostbite/
Ingrid is fresh off a 1st Place win at the 2019 Ham Lake Snow Bowl Snow Sculpting Competition and is eager to defend her title as well as branch out into more competitions in multiple mediums.
